She and Farida also learn that Khirad is pregnant, but decide to keep it as a surprise for Ashar. Ashar becomes secretly jealous of both this friendship and of Khirad's involvement with school, and her success there. Shortly after joining the program, she discovers that one of her classmates (Khizer) is Sara's paternal first cousin.

After Baseerat's sudden death, and encouraged by Ashar to follow her dreams, Khirad enrolls in a masters program in applied mathematics. Within a short period of time, Maimoona dies and Farida appears to have had a change in heart, treating Khirad as a daughter.ДЄfter an initial period of complications, Ashar and Khirad eventually find themselves deeply in love with each other. Despite being against the idea, Ashar and Khirad get married in a home ceremony. After he rescues her, she promises to move on. Meanwhile, Sara (who is in love with Ashar) attempts suicide after both learning about the match and hearing from Ashar that he only sees her as a friend. While initially opposed, Ashar is then manipulated by his father to accept the marriage, as is Khirad by her mother. Farida is opposed to the match, until Baseerat threatened to throw her out of the house if she did not accept it. Feeling guilty for not taking better care of Maimoona, Baseerat compensates by promising that Ashar will marry Khirad, unbeknownst to Farida, Khirad, or Ashar. When she realizes that there is no cure, Maimoona asks Baseerat to arrange a marriage for Khirad. They have one son, Ashar, who received his MBA from Yale University, and runs the family's high-powered firm with his father.ДЄfter Maimoona receives a cancer diagnosis, Baseerat then brings her and Khirad to his large home in Karachi for treatment. He is married to Farida, a social worker who runs a human rights NGO. Maimoona's brother, Baseerat Hussain, is a self-made millionaire who lives in Karachi.

I donвЂ™t think girls like Haala exist today, which is why HaniaвЂ™s performance impresses me. If was watching this like twenty years ago, it would have made sense. I know I said this in my review of the first episode that this story is dated. I totally agree with Hamza: kaun si sadi mein jee Rahi hai yeh ladki? Haala is alone to attend to her, and wellвЂ¦ She isnвЂ™t too confident of handling things so things go out of hand. Riffat Begum isnвЂ™t well and sheвЂ™s brought to the hospital. If she ever gets caught, it will not be her. She pretends to be Sameen, and gives him HaalaвЂ™s backstory. Rumi is flirting with Hashir, the van driver. I still donвЂ™t understand the relevance of this subplot. Can you believe that? He has the audacity to blame Haala. TchвЂ¦ He didnвЂ™t do good to Shafaq or Haala, and it almost feels like a payback for his deeds.

Thurram (itвЂ™s fun to call Khurram ae Thurram, try it) is struggling to make ends meet and he is contacting various people for financial support.

Hamza is giving all the attention that Haala has always wanted, but he doesnвЂ™t know that his attention is causing Haala more trouble. Hamza is just too concerned for Haala, too concerned for Shah JahanвЂ™s liking.
